Applications
1. Primarily used to couple organic polymers with inorganic materials, chemically bonding them into a single entity to improve the polymer’s various physical and mechanical properties, electrical properties, water resistance, and resistance to aging. Suitable polymers for coupling include thermosetting resins, such as epoxy, phenolic, polyurethane, melamine, and acrylonitrile-phenolic resins; thermoplastic resins, such as polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride, and polyamide; and elastomers such as polysulfide rubber and polyurethane rubber.
2. It primarily enhances the performance of laminated materials made from resins such as epoxy, phenolic, melamine, and furan; it is also effective for polypropylene, polyethylene, polyacrylate, silicone, polyamide, polycarbonate, and polyvinyl cyanide.
3. It serves as a glass fiber sizing agent and is also widely used for silica-containing materials such as glass microspheres, silica, talc, mica, clay, and fly ash.
Introduction
1. N-(2-Aminoethyl)-3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane is a highly representative silane coupling agent.
2. It can be used to couple organic polymers with inorganic materials; it can serve as a glass fiber sizing agent, a cross-linking agent and curing agent for silicone rubber and silicone resins, a textile finishing agent, and can also be used to produce amino-modified silicone oils, among other applications.
