Application:
N,N-Dimethyltrimethylsilamine can be used as an efficient silylating agent, a passivating agent, and an amine-removing agent in reaction mixtures.
Synthesis Method:
A Method for the Synthesis of High-Purity N,N-Dimethyltrimethylsilamine: 1) Pretreatment of raw materials, which include trimethylchlorosilane, dimethylamine, and a solvent; 2) Synthesis of the crude product: Add trimethylchlorosilane and solvent to a flask, then introduce gaseous dimethylamine to obtain the crude N,N-dimethyltrimethylsilamine; 3) Separation of the crude product: After heating the reactor containing the crude product to distill off the solvent at atmospheric pressure, the entire contents are transferred to a vacuum system to extract the remaining N,N-dimethyltrimethylsilamine–solvent mixture. The mixture is collected in a receiving flask cooled with liquid nitrogen, and the collected mixture is then heated to remove the solvent; 4) Purification of the crude product: The crude product is transferred in a glove box to a single-neck flask fitted with a temperature-controlled jacket and containing zeolite for fractional distillation. The flask is heated to obtain the target product.
