Production Method:
At −5 °C, L-alanine (3.56 g, 0.04 mol) was dissolved in ethanol (30 mL), and thiosulfonyl chloride (3.6 mL) was slowly added dropwise while stirring. The reaction mixture was then heated to 78 °C and refluxed in Chemicalbook ethanol for 1.5 hours. After the reaction was complete, the solvent was removed by vacuum distillation, yielding L-alanine ethyl ester hydrochloride (2a) in a yield exceeding 80%.
