Lithium bis(trimethylsilyl)amide CAS No:4039-32-1 C6H18LiNSi2

Applications:

Lithium bis(trimethylsilylamine) (LiHMDS) can act as a non-nucleophilic strong base and is used in reactions to form enols, stereoselective Claisen rearrangement of enolates, the conversion of aldehydes to imines, the formation of glycidyl esters, the synthesis of β-lactams, and the selective cleavage of aryl alkyl ethers. It is primarily used in laboratory research and development and in organic synthesis.

Uses:

1.Non-nucleophilic strong bases can be used in reactions to form enols, stereospecific Claisen rearrangements of enol esters, the conversion of aldehydes to silylimines, the formation of glycidyl esters, reactions involving β-lactams, and the selective cleavage of aryl alkyl ethers.

2.Bis(trimethylsilyl)ammonium lithium (LiHDMS) is a commonly used organic base in aldol condensation reactions.
