Olfactory Characteristics
When diluted in a 0.1% dipropylene glycol solution, it exhibits a strong, fresh, green leafy aroma blended with refreshing fruity notes. It is a typical “grass-like” fragrance naturally found in the leaves of various plants.
Core Applications
1. Food Flavoring: FEMA No. 2562, a GRAS-compliant food flavoring, is used to formulate food flavorings with fruit and vegetable notes such as strawberry, banana, and apple, and is widely used in beverages and baked goods.
2. Personal Care Fragrancing: As a key green note component added to perfumes, personal care products, and home fragrances, it significantly enhances the natural and vibrant character of the fragrance and is an iconic raw material for “green leaf” fragrance notes.
3. Organic Synthesis: As an intermediate in fine organic synthesis, it is used in the production and preparation of downstream ester and ether fragrance derivatives.
Storage Requirements
