Features a strong, fresh green aroma blending notes of cucumber and violet leaves, accompanied by a subtle hint of raw oil. It is a highly distinctive green leafy flavoring naturally found in violet leaves.
Core Applications
1. Food Flavoring: FEMA No. 2780, a GRAS-compliant food flavoring, is used to formulate cucumber, melon, and tropical fruit-flavored food essences and is widely applied in soft drinks, confectionery, and baked goods.
2. Personal Care Fragrancing: As a key green note component added to perfumes and high-end personal care products, it is the signature ingredient for the violet leaf fragrance family and significantly enhances the natural, vibrant character of the fragrance.
3. Organic Synthesis: As an intermediate in fine organic synthesis, it is used in the production and preparation of downstream enolic fragrance derivatives.
Storage Requirements
Must be stored in a sealed, nitrogen-flushed container at 2–8°C in a cool, dry, light-protected environment. This substance is sensitive to air and light and must be kept away from strong oxidizing agents.
