1. Food Flavoring: Listed as an approved food flavoring agent under the GB 2760 standard, it is commonly used in the formulation of flavorings with notes of vanilla, smoked meat, whiskey, and rum.
2. Synthetic Intermediate: Serves as an intermediate in pharmaceutical and fine organic synthesis; in the fragrance industry, it is used as a fixative and fragrance enhancer.
3. Other Applications: Can be used in cosmetics and cleaning products, and also serves as an analytical standard for the quantitative detection of relevant components in alcoholic beverages and agricultural products
