
Aroma:
When diluted with 1% dipropylene glycol, it exhibits a complex aroma of spicy and sweet notes, blending cinnamon, coconut, woody notes, and subtle herbal undertones. At a taste threshold of 30 ppm, it delivers a fresh, sweet flavor with a faint brown herbal aftertaste.
Uses:
1. As a food flavoring permitted under China’s GB 2760 standard, it occurs naturally in products such as clary sage oil, grapes, tomatoes, green tea, and hazelnuts, and is used to formulate spicy, nutty, and tropical fruit-based food flavorings.
2. As an organic synthetic intermediate, it is used in the preparation of fine chemicals such as (RS)-(E)-2,6-dimethyl-1,2-epoxy-3,5-heptadiene; it can also serve as a fragrance modifier in personal care fragrances to enhance spicy and woody notes.
Storage:
Store in a sealed container in a dry, cool place at 2–8°C. Store in accordance with Flammables area regulations, away from open flames, high-temperature heat sources, and strong oxidizing agents. Avoid prolonged exposure to air to prevent oxidation and deterioration.
