Primary Uses
1. Key Ingredient for Food Flavors: This is a food flavoring permitted under China’s GB 2760 standard. It is used to formulate fruit-based food flavors such as grape, citrus, strawberry, and watermelon, and can also be used in the formulation of liquor flavors. It has established maximum permitted levels for use in foods such as chewing gum, candy, and frozen desserts.
2. Formulation of Household Fragrances: Used in the formulation of floral fragrances such as jasmine, orange blossom, gardenia, and narcissus. It can also serve as a key component in soap fragrances and grape-scented products; when diluted, it imparts a fresh, grape-like sweet aroma.
3. Intermediates for the Dye Industry: Used in the production of anthraquinone dyes, indigoid dyes, and azo dyes, such as Disperse Orange, Disperse Yellow, Neutral Blue, and other dye products.
4. Raw Materials for Pharmaceuticals and Fine Chemicals: Serves as a synthetic intermediate for fine chemicals such as saccharin and pesticides, and can also be used in the organic synthesis of related pharmaceuticals.
5. Chemical Analysis Reagents: Used as biochemical reagents and standards in scientific research applications such as organic chemistry experiments and chromatographic analysis.
Storage Requirements
1. General Environment: Store in a sealed container in a cool, dry, and light-protected area. Industrial-grade products may be stored at room temperature, while research-grade reagents are recommended to be stored frozen at -20°C.
