Applications
1. Used as a waterproofing agent, anti-adhesive agent, and foam stabilizer in textiles, rubber, leather, paper, and building materials; also serves as a crosslinking agent for chain-like crosslinked compounds
2. Serves as a raw material for the production of block copolymers.
3. Under the action of metal salt catalysts, it can cross-link to form a film at low temperatures, creating a water-repellent film on the surfaces of various materials. It can be used as a water-repellent agent for fabrics, glass, ceramics, paper, leather, metals, cement, marble, and other materials; it is particularly effective for waterproofing fabrics.
4. When used in combination with methyl hydroxyl silicone oil emulsion, methyl hydrogen silicone oil emulsion provides water repellency while maintaining the fabric’s breathability. It also enhances the fabric’s tear strength, abrasion resistance, and stain resistance, and improves the fabric’s hand feel and sewability. Additionally, it serves as an anti-adhesive release agent and crosslinking agent for paper.
Chemical Properties
The molecules of polymethylhydrosiloxane contain reactive silane-hydrogen bonds, which exhibit high reactivity and can undergo addition reactions with many compounds containing unsaturated bonds. By reacting with different functional groups, various groups can be introduced, thereby enabling customized modification of the silicone oil’s properties to meet the specific requirements of different fields.
