Applications
1. Primarily used as a raw material for sebacate plasticizers and nylon molding resins; it can also be used as a raw material for high-temperature lubricants. Its main ester products include methyl esters, isopropyl esters, butyl esters, octyl esters, nonyl esters, and benzyl esters; the most commonly used esters are di-butyl sebacate and di-octyl sebacate. Sebacate plasticizers are widely used in polyvinyl chloride (PVC), alkyd resins, polyester resins, and polyamide molding resins. Due to their low toxicity and high-temperature resistance, they are frequently used in resins for special applications.
2. Nylon molding resins produced with sebacic acid exhibit high toughness and low moisture absorption, and can also be processed into many products for special applications. Sebacic acid is also used as a rubber softener, surfactant, and raw material for coatings and fragrances.
