Applications
Food-grade Tween 80, in accordance with the GB 25554 standard, is commonly used as an O/W-type food emulsifier and is often blended with Span 80. It should be used within the maximum limits specified in GB 2760. In industrial applications: it serves as an emulsifier and detergent component in consumer chemicals such as cosmetics and detergents, and as a stabilizer and foaming agent in the production of polyurethane foam; In synthetic fibers, it can serve as an antistatic agent and is an intermediate in the production of synthetic fiber lubricants; in the manufacture of photographic film using photosensitive materials, it is used as a wetting agent and dispersant; It is effective in emulsifying silicone oil during fabric waterproofing processes and is also used as an oiling agent and water-soluble emulsifier for nylon and viscose tire cord; it is often blended with S-80 and used as an oilfield emulsifier, dewaxing agent, heavy oil wetting agent, drag reducer, and near-wellbore treatment agent; it is also used to formulate lubricating and cooling fluids for precision machine tools.
