Key Applications
1. Organic Synthesis: As a key selective brominating agent specifically designed for the Wohl-Ziegler reaction, it efficiently facilitates radical monobromination of the allylic position in alkenes and the benzylic position in aromatics with virtually no damage to intramolecular unsaturated double bonds. It is one of the most commonly used brominating agents in fine organic synthesis.
2. Pharmaceutical Peptides: As a key synthetic building block, it is used for the selective bromination of various pharmaceutical intermediates and for the activation of specific functional groups during peptide synthesis. It is widely used in the research, development, and production of innovative drugs.
3. Other Applications: Used in the synthesis of rubber additives and pesticide intermediates; it can also serve as an analytical chemistry reagent for the quantitative detection of alcohols and aldehydes.
Storage Requirements
1. Basic Storage Conditions: Must be stored in a completely sealed container; it is generally recommended to store at 0–6°C in a cool, dry, and light-protected environment
2. Safety Isolation Requirements: Keep away from open flames and heat sources at all times; must be strictly separated from strong oxidizing agents, strong reducing agents, and strong alkali chemicals; mixed storage is strictly prohibited
