Main Applications

‌1. Personal Care and Pharmaceuticals: Used as a humectant, lubricant, and base for ointments and suppositories in skin care products and pharmaceutical excipients; it can also serve as a biocompatible carrier to modify protein-based drugs and reduce toxicity.

‌2. Industrial and Research Applications‌: Used as water-soluble lubricants for rubber molds and metalworking; as leveling agents in the textile industry; as lubricants for hot-melt adhesives in the paper industry; and as stationary phases in gas chromatography for the separation of oxygen-containing compounds such as alcohols, ketones, and aldehydes.

Storage Requirements

‌1. General Conditions‌: Standard products should be stored at room temperature in a cool, dark, and sealed container. Some research-grade products require storage at 2–8°C in a dry, sealed container.

‌2. Precautions‌: Keep away from strong oxidizing agents. Avoid prolonged exposure to high temperatures. Products with high hygroscopicity must be sealed to prevent moisture absorption and caking.
