Key Applications
1. Cosmetics: As the most commonly used emulsifying stabilizer, thickener, and emollient in creams and lotions, it is widely added to various personal care products such as face creams, lotions, hair conditioners, and lip balms. It significantly enhances the viscosity and smoothness of the formulation, improving the product’s texture and stability
2. Pharmaceutical Industry: Used as a base excipient in topical ointments to improve the ointment’s formability and adhesion; it can also serve as a matrix material in sustained-release formulations to regulate drug release rates
3. Industrial Applications: Used in the preparation of nonionic surfactants, textile auxiliaries, and plastic lubricants; it serves as a core starting material for downstream fine chemicals such as fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ethers
4. Other Applications: Can also function as a viscosity regulator in oil-based products and is suitable for various industrial lubrication and mold release formulations
Standard Storage Requirements
1. Routine Storage: Store in a sealed container in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated environment, away from open flames and high-temperature heat sources to prevent the product from softening or caking due to heat.
2. Long-Term Stable Storage: It is recommended to maintain the storage area temperature below 35°C to prevent prolonged exposure to heat, which can cause product oxidation, discoloration, and an increase in acid value.
3. The storage area must be strictly separated from strongly oxidizing substances and strong acids to prevent incompatible reactions.
