Overview
Ethoxylated cocoyl amine, also known as cocoyl amine polyoxyethylene ether, is a nonionic surfactant—specifically, a polyether-type amine polyether—that ranges from slightly soluble to soluble in water. Its solubility increases with the number of ethylene oxide (EO) units. It is soluble in organic solvents such as acetone and benzene. It exhibits excellent emulsifying, dispersing, solubilizing, antistatic, lubricating, corrosion-inhibiting, and rust-preventive properties.
Properties
The properties of ethoxylated cocoalkylamine are related to the number of ethylene oxide (EO) units in its structure. When the number of EO units is low, it is not alkali-resistant and has poor compatibility with anionic surfactants.
Applications
Ethoxylated cocoyl alkylamine can be used as an antistatic agent, emulsifier, dispersant, solubilizer, rust inhibitor, and corrosion inhibitor.
