Physical Properties
Castor oil polyoxyethylene ether is a yellow, viscous liquid that is resistant to hard water, acids, alkalis, and inorganic salts. It is used to emulsify and dissolve oils and other water-insoluble substances. It is a nonionic solubilizing agent. It is used as a solubilizing agent and emulsifier for water-insoluble drugs or other fat-soluble drugs in semisolid and liquid formulations.
Applications
1. Emulsifier for pesticides; oil agent for synthetic fibers in the textile industry; crude oil dehydration in oil fields.
2. Used in the textile industry as an oil agent for synthetic fibers; in the wool spinning industry as a wool oil; and as an antistatic spinning oil for vinyl fiber. It can also be used to emulsify fats and waxes, oleic acid, and mineral oils.
3. Biochemical research: Used to emulsify and dissolve oils and other water-insoluble substances. Nonionic solubilizer. Used as a solubilizer and emulsifier for water-insoluble drugs or other lipid-soluble drugs in semisolid and liquid formulations.
