N-[3-(diethoxymethylsilyl)propyl]ethylenediamine CAS No:70240-34-5 C10H26N2O2Si

Applications

N-(2-Aminoethyl)-3-aminopropylmethyldiethoxysilane has a wide range of applications in the chemical industry, primarily as a coupling agent. It is suitable for coupling thermosetting resins such as epoxy, phenolic, and melamine resins, as well as hot-melt resins such as polystyrene and polyamide. In addition, it can be used as a raw material for amino silicone oils and various silicone super-softening finishing agents. When condensed with silicone monomers such as D4 and DMC, it is used to synthesize amino silicone oils, thereby improving the orientation of silicone molecules on fibers, increasing their affinity for the fibers, and imparting properties such as softness, smoothness, drape, antistatic properties, wash resistance, and wrinkle resistance.

Physical and Chemical Properties

N-(2-Aminoethyl)-3-aminopropylmethyldiethoxysilane is a low-viscosity, colorless to pale yellow, clear, transparent liquid with a slight ammonia odor; it is soluble in conventional aliphatic and aromatic solvents such as alcohols, esters, ethers, and benzene, and reacts with acetone and carbon tetrachloride; It is soluble in water but undergoes hydrolysis simultaneously. The pH of its hydrolysate solution is generally between 10 and 11. Hydrolysates of this product at concentrations of 5% or higher can remain stable for more than 72 hours. It also reacts with ketone and ester solvents; therefore, the use of such solvents to dilute this product is not recommended.
