1. As a food-grade flavoring agent compliant with FEMA No. 3879, it is used to formulate edible flavorings with notes of coconut, caramel, milk, cream, and white chocolate.

2. It can also be used as a sulfur-containing organic synthetic intermediate in the formulation of personal care fragrances.
