Applications

1. Flavoring agent. Primarily used in the formulation of fruit-flavored essences. Plasticizer (for packaging materials).

2. Cold-resistant plasticizer; compatible with most resins and synthetic rubbers; can be used as a primary plasticizer. This product is non-toxic and suitable for packaging materials that come into contact with food; it imparts a pleasant tactile feel to finished products. When used as a plasticizer for many synthetic rubbers, it confers excellent low-temperature performance and oil resistance to the products. The main drawback of this product is its high volatility and susceptibility to leaching by water, soapy water, and detergent solutions; therefore, it is often used in combination with phthalate plasticizers.

3. Dibutyl sebacate can be used as a gas chromatography stationary phase, a plasticizer, and a rubber softener; it is also used in fragrance formulation and organic synthesis.
